UPDATE: Feb 24 th
Feeling a bit better, but my daughter still has many stomach problems, we will see her gastroenterologist next week to see what he does. She and my son have some lactulose (dissacharids) intolerance that is causing them a lot of discomfort after meals. We are testing each ingredient day by day. We will have to schedule my daughters surgeries (colon, nose and back) and her 3rd molars extraction before June, hopefully. I think she will eventually need another endoscopy as a follow up to her treatment. For my part, the migraines are daily and the stomach pain is a little less, but it´s still there, daily. I have no idea what is next. I have my appointment with the gastro in two weeks, so I am hoping he can figure out what is going on.
The weather here is damp, cold and the days are as usual, short. Living in the Andes of the Ecuador is actually very cold all year round and very grey. I think I might need some more sunlight and warmth. We have no air conditioning here, so we have to stick with warm clothing and warm drinks.
Carnaval weekend is arriving. I am hoping I can relax a bit, maybe take a warm bath in the termas de papallacta spa and thermal pool and a nice hike around the moors. We are trying to save a little, so we would take a day trip only and come back home to sleep... if lucky. We are having lots of rain and floods, so I am not sure the roads are safe for travel.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend and send many hugs from the distant Andes to everyone.
So my daughter managed to catch influenza on top of everthing. I am actually coping with the medication, but she is so ill I considered hospitalizing her. Gladly she stopped vomiting, having stomach flu and is only coping with the flu. Keep my daughter in your prayers and/or positive thoughts. We are suspecting the housekeeper is bringing all of these bacteria and viruses home. She is getting a checkup next week.- I might have to let her go. She is refusing testing or treatment. I am very upset.
ADVICE: Please test yourself and loved ones for H.Pylori. It´s an easy, inexpensive test (stool test for h.pylori). Results are fast (one hour to 3) and you can avoid a lot of pain, gastritis, lesions, ulcers and cancer.
Not dead yet! I am just very ill, from doctor to lab, to endoscopy (and it`s horrible companion: colonoscopy). I am learning a lot about why I am feeling so bad, and sadly my daughter is ill too. We all caught a bacteria called Helicobacter Pylori. It usually doesn`t do a lot harm, unless you take pain meds (I have migraine and back problems) So I take lots of them. We had endoscopy and colonospy. My daughter had complications with the last one (internal bleeding) but it stopped. We all tested positive in the family so well, we all have to take like 10 tablets or more a day. I have to take 14 plus the pain meds if pain comes... diagnosis was severe active chronic gastritis with hyperplasia foveolar, positive for helicobacter pylori (+++).
focal complete intestinal metaplasia ... esophagitis. Functional espasmodic colon... you name it, I have it!!!!
So guys, if your stomach hurts, DO go to the doctor... don`t let it pass... it can lead to cancer. The metaplasia and OLGA (Operative Link on Gastritis Assessment )
is stage I for me, so if I take care, I won`t have to worry about the said illnes..
I hope I have a better update for you guys soon, I am very stressed and that doesn`t really help... so well, I SHOULD draw or something to help me out, but I am in pain all the time...
Nasty bug I say, but that seems to be very normal in developing countries like Ecuador...
I don`t want to sound too negative, but I wanted to update my friends (if any are still coming) about me.
Hugs from the distance and lots of love
